Ricoh GR IIIx HDF comes with a new filter feature that enhances personal storytelling. With a single action, users can seamlessly switch to the newly integrated HDF (Highlight Diffusion Filter). The new filter enhances highlights and delivers mellow, softened images. This special-effect filter diffuses highlights and creates a gentle blur along the edges, evoking a nostalgic feel akin to film photography or cinematic visuals. The HDF's instant toggle feature enables effortless transitions between two distinct visual styles: the crisp, focused imagery characteristic of the RICOH GR series, and the softened, dreamy effects achieved with the HDF.
The shutter button has been changed to gray-silver to symbolize the simple change in visual expression. The default setting of the Fn (Function) button has also been changed to turning on/off the HDF. The user can also select another function as the default setting of the Fn button.
The RICOH GR IIIx HDF features an razor-sharp 26.1 mm GR lens, it offers a versatile 40mm angle of view in the 35mm format, allowing for varied image renditions from semi-wide to standard angles. The camera boasts upgraded post-shooting functions for customized image editing.
Hybrid AF system for high-speed, high-precision autofocus operation
The GR IIIx features a hybrid AF system combining a contrast-type AF mechanism superior in focusing precision with a phase-detection-type AF mechanism assuring high-speed focusing operation. During autofocus shooting, this AF system detects the subject’s face or eye with precision, focuses on it, and indicates the in-focus position on the LCD display using the AF frame.
When the camera detects multiple faces, it automatically distinguishes the main subject from secondary ones and indicates this on the focus frame. Photographers can also change the main subject with simple touch-screen operation.
